Introduction

Hi! I'm Joey, a third-year Electrical Engineering student at McMaster University. I'm interested in embedded systems, circuit design, and the intersection of hardware and software. I enjoy building and testing hardware prototypes, writing firmware that runs efficiently, and creating practical solutions that actually work outside the lab.
My experience spans programming with C, C++, and Python for embedded systems and microcontroller development, as well as circuit analysis and simulation using PSpice and LTspice. On the hardware side, I've worked extensively with platforms like the MSP-EXP432E401Y microcontroller, Arduino/UNO R3, and the Analog Discovery 3 for measurement and debugging. These projects have strengthened my ability to design and prototype reliable circuits, write efficient firmware, and integrate hardware and software into complete, tested systems.
I love challenging myself in every aspect of my life, constantly striving for improvement in my academics, in running, and just growing as a person. Outside of engineering, some of my interests include:
- 🏃♂️ Running — training daily with the McMaster XC & Track Team (~130 km/week, check out my Strava!)
- ⛳ Golf — especially with my dad and brother
- 🎾 Racket sports — tennis, squash, pickleball, padel
- 🏐 Volleyball — both on the court and on the beach
- 🙋 Volunteering — helping out at local track & field meets
- 👨👩👦 Family time — with my parents, brother, and sister
- 🥾 Hiking — from local trails to the Inca Trail in Peru
- 🎵 Music — classic rock + hip-hop
- 📺 TV & film — Prison Break, Suits, Breaking Bad, The Office
- 📚 Reading — mostly running books :)
